These three beautiful Lorikeets put a smile on my face even though I was having a tough day. Sometimes when we slow down a little, we get to see how blessed we are by the amazing wonders that are all around us. Yesterday, I had to stop my car for about 30 seconds because I mama duck was escorted her six chicks across the street.
Yesterday Michelle and I visited Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray, Florida and she was thrilled with the amazing landscape and the abundance of beautiful birds. This wonderful Heron was kind enough to pose for me and I am pleased to share the photo with you.
Snow Storm In China
I have been participating in the Boca Museum Artist Guild exhibitions at Florida Atlantic University for many months. One of two two photos I have hanging in their Living Room location this month won a third place award. This is really cool, because I compete with oil paintings, pastels and other fine art. I feel really blessed!
After moving to Hong Kong 1n 1987, I spent considerable time in China establishing strategic partners for VLSI Technology. This gave me a great opportunity to explore and photograph a China that was about to go through considerable changes. This photograph was taken in Zhuhai, a city in Southern China.

With so much hatred and violence in our world, it's wonderful to see two of God's very different creatures come together and live in peace. This beautiful Cormorant and colorful Iguana can share this tree without fear for their safety. We could learn from them.
Blue Heron Nest

As I reflect back through this amazing year, I can't help but smile as I think about United Camp. The commitment to provide a life changing adventure for our youth, was our lofty goal. Presents to buy, year-end office demands and family obligations, but it's important to slow down and reflect on our blessings. There is no better place on God's Earth than Yosemite in the Winter to awaken us to how much God has blessed us.

Incredible Hong Kong Harbor
I lived in Hong Kong for almost five years, while serving as Managing Director of Asian Operations for VLSI Technology. I never got board of photographing the people or the landscape. Hong Kong is unique in both it's culture and the most beautiful skyline I have ever been blessed to photograph.

In November of 2008 I photographed a Skillet concert at Family Community Church (FCC) in San Jose, California. Korey Cooper is a keyboardist and guitar player for this incredible band and I was able to capture the intensity of her commitment to this music and the quality of her performance. In January of 2014, Ellen and I visited the Philippines to begin making plans to bring Lily to America. While there we took in some of the amazing beauty that makes this country very special Although I have not photographed a wedding in many years, while touring the San Augustin Church which was built in 1589, there was a wedding in progress.
American Avocet Future Mom
This beautiful little American Avocet is perched on her nest, waiting for her eggs to hatch. The renewal of life is quite amazing and can be very beautiful in nature. I am very thankful for places like Baylands Preserve, where a photographer can capture this beauty and share it. I can't wait until early next year when our featured friends begin building their nests once again.
God's Amazing Majesty
I'll be leaving California today and heading back to Florida. I got to spend nine days with my Daughters, Michelle and Becky. I also was blessed with wonderful weather and some of God's incredible handy work. Although I didn't have time to visit Yosemite this trip, I thought I'd post an example of the beauty I was describing.

China In The 1980s
Sometimes we complain about the smallest inconvenience. We somehow fail to grasp how truly blessed we to be able to get into our cars and drive to work or to a supermarket to do our shopping. I can't even image how I would be able to remember where I left my bike.

So You Think You're Having A Bad Hair Day
Yesterday, shortly after beginning our tour of the beautiful Morikami Japanese Gardens, I spotted this young Iguana sunning himself on a rock. I was able to get off one shot before he disappeared, but that was all I needed. Sometimes the unexpected becomes the the photo you most cherish from an outing!

It's been well over a year since our beloved Hood left us. Our new dog Bentley, is a licking machine that is full of love and mischief and is loved. That being said, every time I see this portrait of Hood on our family room wall, I have to fight back the tears. Hood and his wonderful smile is truly missed.
Last weekend Ellen and I visited Fairchild Tropical Gardens for their wonderful Orchid Festival. Ellen brought back some new treasures for her garden. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of this water scene, which combined the beauty of man made art with the incredible beauty provided by God.
I am very excited! I submitted 4 framed photographs to be juried to decide whether I could be upgraded to Signature status with the Boca Museum of Art"s Artist Guild. I was accepted and now can participate in all their exhibitions and their gallery. This is one of the photographs I submitted.
A couple of years ago, I visited, Baylands Preserve, one of my favorite places in Northern California to photograph birds. That day, however, the Egrets and Herons were nowhere to be found and I was very disappointed. While walking the shoreline, feeling sorry for myself, I spotted this wonderful Re-Shouldered Hawk happily posing for me.
In mid 1987 I moved to Hong Kong to setup Asian Operations for VLSI Technology. For the next 4 1/2 years I traveled through Asia, developing strategic partners and taking thousands of photos along the way. Hong Kong is an amazing city, with great food, high energy and enough photo opportunities to keep any photographer happy for a lifetime. I will always cherish the time I got to spend there.
A couple of months ago I added a gallery titled Beauty of Florida. This photograph taken from the rear patio of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens captures just a small clue as to why this wonderful site is a national treasure.
I shot this photo many years ago in Taiyuan, an industrial city in Northern China. The winters are harsh there, but the beauty I found in this city inspired me to take many photographs. Again, sometimes we find amazing beauty in simplicity and all we have to do is slow down and take it in.
I recently shared a photo I shot many years ago during a snow storm near Xian, the ancient capital of China. This beautiful resort was a retreat for Chinese royalty and many a good time was enjoyed so many years years ago. I had to shut off ago-focus to take this photo or the camera would have focused on the falling snow instead of the beautiful scene.
I'm exited to announce that I now have photographs hanging in two exhibitions presented by the Artist Guild of the Boca Museum of Art. A total of six of my photographs are now on display. Thanks to the encouragement and support of my cousin Lorrie, I have begun to take an active role with the Artist Guild.
Since moving to Florida two years ago, I have enjoyed photographing the awesome butterflies that visit our garden. Photographing these beauties now competes with my love for photographing birds.
I photographed this tree-eyed monkey at the city zoo in Taiyaun, China, long before digital photography. Many cities in China have wonderful zoos and I've had the pleasure of visiting quite a few. Sometimes an ordinary day of sight-seeing can produce images that are unforgettable.

The beauty on and off the coast of California is world famous. This beautiful and very friendly Sea Otter came visiting our boat and said Hi. These wonderful sea mammals are a treasure to enjoy.
My first stay in the Philippines was at a Naval Air Station in Cavite City where we initiated flights off the Vietnamese coast in search of Russian Submarines. I got to see much of this beautiful country during my two tours with the navy. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting the Philippines again and enjoyed my time with friends and family. While staying at the Manila Hotel, I was struck by the beauty from my hotel window, Sometimes, life, commerce and industry can appear quite striking if we take the time to look.
